Air Purifiers: Here’s To Better Health

Tip! But most other organizations that rank air purifiers – such as Allergy Buyers Club, James Dulley (a syndicated columnist) and Consumer Guide – mainly rely on anecdotal and subjective opinions rather than actual product testing. For the most part, they focus their air purifiers rankings on such factors as cost and noise levels and not on removal of odors, dust and allergens.

Upon arriving home from work this evening, the indoor temperature wasn’t nearly as comfortable as I’m used to. After adjusting the thermostat, I looked up at our HVAC air intake. Then it finally hit me: I haven’t replaced the air filter in a year and a half! We rented out the house last year and have been back in it for six months. This same filter has been in the entire time. I quickly took a trip to the local home improvement store to buy some filters. The sales person told me I should be changing it every month or two.

All this thinking about air quality got my mind on the topic. My family has been inhaling all that crud. It makes me itch just thinking about it. Now that we’ve got our filtration system pulling in cleaner air, it is time to start reviewing some air purifiers.

Tip! Picture a meandering stream, with surging bank cuts and rapids, followed by lazy flats with sandbars; the velocity is not uniform across the whole stream. This is not an efficient model for air purifiers.

Are you trying to learn more about air purifiers too? What follows are the bare essential facts concerning air purifiers. There’s plenty of articles about air purifiers on the Internet today, but after you process it all, the following is what you’ll learn.

Did you know that an estimated 50% of sicknesses are caused or made worse by polluted indoor air? I just read this fact and it surprised me. I rarely get sick, yet my wife does. If I would fork over $20 for prescription medicine and thousands of dollars a year in health related costs, then surely I can pay small amount to get some safe air purifiers (an ionic air purifier or other) to improve our health.

Tip! Standard fiberglass HVAC air filters are installed ahead of motors and fans to protect them from sandpaper-grit sized particles, not as air purifiers.

Another illuminating figure: according to the EPA, indoor air is between two and ten times more harmful than the air outdoors. Realize that we spend over 90% of our lives indoors. After considering that it is far easier to control the inside air quality than outside, we had better take action! If you consider yourself reasonable as I do, then it just makes sense to filter your indoor air of mold and other contaminants.

You now have all you need to begin. Now that you have taken in these air purifiers facts, you should be prepared to begin looking for your own. There is always more to learn, but just keep in mind that this information won’t benefit you unless you actually use it. And by all means, if you have some experience with air purifiers, please write a review or your insights at the site listed below.

Tip! Though expensive, Living Air purifiers are generally reported as being effective in removing particles and dust from the air. But, by using ozone in their design, it is likely that these clean air purifiers are emitting something far more dangerous than the particles they eliminate.
